The Blank Chat Box Problem

The hardest part of a first AI companion isn't the app. It's the empty chat box, a stranger's photo above it, and no idea what to type first. GoLove.ai gets around that by giving you a story before it gives you a keyboard.

Still staring at a blinking cursor? The app gives you some help:

1. Magic wand. It writes 3 suggested replies when you don't know what to say. Pick one, tweak it, send it.
2. Quick-reply chips. These are one-tap prompts, including "Send me a sexy video."
3. Rate any reply from 1 to 5 and regenerate it if it missed the mood.
4. Chat Settings. Lust level runs from 1 (sweet) to 5 (unfiltered), and response length from 1 (snappy) to 5 (immersive). There's also a voice picker.

Training wheels are the feature nobody lists, and the one a first-timer uses most.

Then comes the payoff, and for me it's the best reason to pick GoLove. Hit the media button, choose Send Photo and describe the scene in your own words. A photo of Melissa arrives in about 20 to 45 seconds for 1 Star. Her face and body match her avatar and her earlier photos. You don't have to find her again or explain who she is.

Below that photo, a one-tap Generate Video turns the same scene into a clip of about 5 seconds in roughly a minute, for 10 Stars. It's a nice extra, though the photo is what you'll keep coming back for.

When You'd Rather Watch Than Type

Not everyone wants to talk on night one. That's fine.

GoLove's Feed is a vertical, Reels-style stream of AI-generated adult clips of its characters, one full-screen clip at a time. It has two tabs: Explore for recommendations and new clips, and Liked for everything you double-tapped. Any clip opens that character's profile or chat directly, so you can switch from watching to chatting whenever you're ready.

For beginners, Remix is the actually useful part. Tap the magic wand on a clip and the generator opens with that clip's character, action, outfit and scene already set. Change one thing, hit generate, and you have your own version without writing a prompt. This matters more than it sounds (a blank prompt box is just the empty chat box again), because preset cards let you start from something that already works. Starting from scratch works the same way: in Generate → Video you pick a GoLove character or your own, stack an action, clothes and a background, and render it with one tap.

The free Feed has a cap. You get a limited number of new videos per day, and then an "Unlock Unlimited Feed" paywall appears. Feed filters for style and gender are PRO-only.

How the Beginner Picks Line Up

If you've never opened one of these apps, here's how the options stack up:

1. GoLove.ai. You get a story-first on-ramp, in-chat photos that keep the same face and body, and reply suggestions for when you're stuck. GoLove also lists memory of your chat history among its core features.
2. OurDream. Chat, image and video generation come bundled in one subscription, from about $19.99/month or about $9.99/month on an annual plan. Setting up a custom character in its builder takes more work, though, and it's web-only with no native mobile app.

Who GoLove.ai Is NOT For

I'd point most beginners here, but not all of them. Skip it if:

• you want a fully free, unlimited app. The free side is a taste: daily Stars, a capped Feed and two episodes per series. We couldn't confirm a free account does more than that.
• you want a strictly SFW, G-rated companion. GoLove is an 18+ product.
• you're looking for an AI boyfriend. Male characters are listed as "Soon," and right now it offers female and trans characters only.
• you're hoping it replaces a real relationship. It won't, and it shouldn't have to.

So here's how I'd sort it.

Works: the story-first start, reply suggestions, adjustable intensity and response length, consistent photos of the same character, and a creator path once you want your own character.

Kinda: Stars put a second meter on top of the subscription. 100 a month with PRO goes a long way on photos, but you'll want to watch the balance.

Nope: the paywall shows up at episode 3 and for voice. Feed filters are PRO-only.

None of that is hidden, and none of it is weak sauce. You get a real free taste, clear prices once you want more, and a product built around the exact moment beginners stall. That's a fair shake for a curious adult starting out.

What I'd Do in Week One

Here's the order I'd take it in.

Pick one series and watch episodes 1 and 2, which are free and need no account. Then tap Start Chatting with the cast and talk to its star. Keep lust level and response length low at first, at 1 or 2, and turn them up once the conversation finds its rhythm. After that, ask for one photo by describing the scene in plain words.

When you know what you like, open Create. Your options are Realistic, Anime, Trans, or Design with AI, and that last one is where it gets fun. You describe her in plain text, up to 2,000 characters. About a minute later you have a named character with her own @handle, a written bio and a portrait, for around 3 Stars. She stays private by default.

OurDream is a solid pick if you'd rather have chat, images and video under one subscription and don't mind a more involved character builder. For a true first-timer, though, my pick is still GoLove.ai. It takes you from watching a story, to talking with that same character, to building your own, and you never face a blank page along the way.

Design with AI works from a description you already have in your head. Write it down, and she exists a minute later.
